Richard Colman

Richard Colman (b. 1976) hails from Bethesda, MD and currently lives and works in Chicago, IL. His work explores the intricacies of everyday life - power struggles, personal interactions and the relationships with ourselves and the world around us.  Painted as monuments to nothing, and hosting a violent cast of characters, Colman’s work illustrates mans need for meaning and his frustration with the world around him. His paintings serve as a reminder of the chaos and the wonder of existence in a contemporary society where progress rules and one rarely finds the time to appreciate the small moments. Colman has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums throughout the U.S. and around the world.
